Munchausen’s Zeitgeist by Proxy

Munchausens Syndrome , as defined by the Mayo Clinic, as ” a serious mental disorder in which someone with a deep need for attention pretends to be sick or gets sick or injured on purpose (Mayo Clinic.com)”¹.  Munchausen’s by proxy takes place when those afflicted with the disease do harm to others for attention (say to their child, or their aged parent).

Zeitgeist, as defined by One Look Dictionary² is the spirit of the time; the spirit characteristic of an age or generation (OneLook® Dictionary Search).

Now I am going to take liberties (I like Liberty, it is a great concept, especially when you are living in Obama’s Gulag), but I will take liberties with the definition and expand it a bit (or, maybe, contract is a better word) so that the concept is less inclusive in this age of seeming complete inclusiveness…let’s operate, simply for my argument, on the precept that another needed definition of the concept of zeitgeist is that it is “the spirit characteristic of an age, a generation, or a group who perceives that they belong to an age or generation”.

I honestly believe that the Demon-erratic, “Democratic” Party seeks to do harm to itself and the entire nation so that they can get attention.

Think of the kid who slices their own arms for attention.

Let’s take the hippie-Democrat (or just the Democrat, for they are with the advent of the Weather Underground into the highest political office in the free world, now all members of the Weather Underground) – we will use them as an example.

Here he is (the Democrat) living in modern times and he has been sort of in a state of suspended animation for some forty years.  “On ice”, if you will.

Now, this hippie re-emerges into an age just after the age of the neo-conservative.

The hippie is hungry for the glory days of his past.  He wants action, he wants civil disobedience, he wants to be known as the counter-culture hero, extraordinaire.

But this zeitgeist in which he lives is inconsistent (by some estimates) with the mood of at least 75% of the rest of the population.

Poor hippie…always belonging to this under-culture sub-set of humanity.

Now enter the concept of yet another bastardization of word, deed and definition – “Munchausen’s Zeitgeist by Proxy”.

Imagine if you will one of the counter-culture geniuses who decides to do irreparable harm to self (and even go so far as to damage and injure other’s like them) in order to get attention.

Enter Michelle Obama.

She’s a Harvard-trained lawyer. She blatantly broke the law by entering the voting polls and politicking for her husband.

She absolutely knows better (unless they do not teach anything at Harvard law any more, or, perhaps that they have delved so far into quota-based indoctrination that they no longer feel the need to actually teach anything since they are handing out the diplomas anyhow) – but rather than go down this endless road of speculation, let us assume (again, for argument) that the initial assertion is correct – that she knew exactly what she was doing, but she did it anyway.

Who can argue that this has not done tremendous harm to “her husband’s agenda” (that for which she was politicking at the polling place)?

It most certainly has damaged her reputation as a scholar of the law, it has damaged the very agenda which she was promoting at the poll, and it has literally damaged in a tremendous fashion a party that is already looking like a duck in its death throws.

So what could be the possible reasons for this?

I’ve written before (rather tongue-in-cheek) that Mr. Obama has some serious issues with ego (another mental disorder that reminds me of Napolean)…but I thought he was reasonably intelligent, and again, this is a political column that hacks on those in opposition to my viewpoint.

So, it was an attack, but at the time, I thought of it as tongue-in-cheek (that no one would take it too awfully seriously, but admit the guy has some ego-issues).

Now I’m not so sure that it wasn’t, in fact, more prophetic in nature.

I had a friend tell me one time, who had some knowledge in the area, that there is in fact a higher degree of incidence of suicide among gays than other groups.  I’ve heard it described as a sort of self-loathing.

I do not know the actual stats, or if the condition really exists – but I do know that I’ve heard this related both in articles and I’ve heard about it through friends who had family members who they saw suffer when a child committed suicide that was likely related to their lifestyle choice.

This debate is not really about the gay issue, but more, could it be that there is some sort of zeitgeist among Democrats to commit political suicide due to a form of self-loathing (or maybe just a suicide “feint” to get attention, as with the Munchausen’s patient?

I don’t know for certain what Ms. Obama’s motives were.  It could be that they are so desperate right now that they are willing to sacrifice anything (again, all the more reason for me to see very little that passes as true leadership)…but desperate people will do desperate things.

She has essentially thrown her party under the bus for the perceived possibility that this will have a positive effect on her husband’s agenda (now they have publicly admitted that they have one).

If they are willing to sacrifice even their own party who elected them to further their ill-conceived agenda (peace, love and drugs?), then what are they willing to do to the nation-at-large?

It seems patently obvious to me; but I’m not so certain that this is something that affects Ms. Obama alone.  This is why I’ve merged the concept into “Munchausen’s Zeitgeist by Proxy”.

There is, I believe, a “national mood” (more “group” mood) that is only affecting the Democrats…they are suicidal and trying to get attention for it in order to try and win their elections.

Like a Mother who would do harm to her own child (or to herself) in order to get attention, I believe that they are purposefully screwing things in America up in order to get attention.

Like a spoiled brat, they need their asses kicked.

But, in this society where you can not spank your kid at the local K-Mart without crossing arms with the long arm of the law (and a bunch of busy-bodies at the marketplace who should just stay home), I decided to look up the treatment for Munchausen’s (hoping against hope for an idea for a collective treatment for this new disease which I am now certain is afflicting the entire Democrat party) – the bad news is, there is no, known cure (WebMD.com)³.

However, like a lot of ailments, there are treatments.  Psychotropic drugs are one (perhaps in the doses the Democrats are naturally intaking through the vice of a habit that just goes with the territory of being a member of their group (hippie, queer, free-loving…you know, Democrat Drug addict “I did not inhale”) – it is not-so-certain that this will work on a collective level.

It is further bad news that the article states that they are rarely treated successfully; however saratonin and antipsychochics have shown to improve the condition in some people.

So, here’ s my idea.

Let’s get the DEA to intercept all incoming drugs (or, the home-grown kind)…and lace all those drugs with mega-doses of saratonin and antipsychotics.

How can that hurt (I mean, they are drug addicts anyhow,  right?).

It is a given that the drugs are used practically exclusively by Democrats and their friends, so we know the treatment will find the right target audience.

We get them some pseudo- help that they are looking for for their other pseudo-diseases (we’ll get a bunch of pseudo-news anchors (is there another kind)  to kiss their pseudo-boo-boos for them, all the while doping them up on anitpsychotics.

This should be a good cure.

Of course, there is also the alternatives of socio-therapy, but they really already get that from the pseudo news anchors at CBS, ABC, CNN and NBC.

It just looks like a nagging problem, really.

Maybe we can “weaponize” the antipsychotic drugs and administer them through some atomization process in a movie theater showing free Dr. Strangelove, or anything by Jane Fonda…this should hit the terrible disease where it hurts.

Or, we can just choose to live with it (either way, we are going to have to).
